Here is the second pattern in the step-by-step series from Skeena guide Derek Barber. The “Easy Rider” is a tube dry fly. The use of foam and a plastic tube makes the pattern float all day, while the slim, buggy profile remains attractive when viewed from below. Enjoy.
Materials:
– Thread black veevus 10/0 thread
– Clear 1.8mm tough tube, 4cm
– Clear junction tube 1.5-2cm
– Tail- nutria (black)
– Flash- mirage crinkle flash (blue)
– Body- 2mm black foam. Strip 4mm wide 10 long
– Hackle- brown hen saddle hackle
– Foam shell back- 2mm black foam, strip 10cm long x 1cm wide.
– Glue: Krazy glue advanced[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”12799″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Flare end of 1.8mm tough tube with lighter and press it into the clear junction tube.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_single_image image=”12800″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]Tie black nutria evenly around the tube.
